Docdata announces the 2001 half-year results
The financial results for the half-year ending June 30, 2001 improved substantially in comparison with the half-year results in 2000. Management is of the opinion that the actions taken during 2000 have created an improved cost infrastructure in all the operating companies, which has produced the growth in operating profit during the first 6 months of 2001.

Although DOCdata has very strict rules and procedures to prevent being engaged in the production of records for customers who do not have a proper license, DOCdata USA,. has received a copyright infringement notice from the RIAA. According to the RIAA, DOCdata USA was involved in producing copyright protected material for customers who do not own the publishing rights to that material.

As a result of the changes in the optical media markets in which the DOCdata Media Group participates, and the disappointing performance of the DOCdata Media Group in the past twelve months, the Management of DOCdata has decided to refocus the strategy of the Media Group.

Docdata announces the sale of the leasehold property in London
DOCdata has sold its leasehold property in London for a consideration in cash of approximately GBP 7.2 mln. The book profit on the sale amounts to approximately GBP 3 mln of which GBP 1 mln has been booked as an extraordinary income in the first half of 2000. The remainder, GBP 2 mln will be booked as an extraordinary income in the second half of 2000.

Docdata to write down the goodwill
DOCdata has decided to write down the remaining goodwill paid for the distribution activities in The Netherlands of Euro 1.7 million and in France of Euro 1.2 million. In The Netherlands the write down of this goodwill is fully tax deductible, in France only Euro 0.2 million. The management of DOCdata has decided to focus on e-commerce and retail fulfillment.

DOCdata has elected to voluntarily delist from the NASDAQ stock market
DOCdata N.V. has elected to voluntarily delist from the NASDAQ Stock Market on which common shares of the Company are traded under the symbol DOCD. This decision was reached as a result of the small number of record holders of the ordinary shares in the United States, the limited trading volume and ownership of DOCdata shares on NASDAQ and the relatively high costs of continuing to be a reporting company under the US securities laws.

Net income was influenced by extraordinary expenses, a small decline in sales of Media Services with an operating loss before amortization of Euro 0.2 million, sales growth of E-commerce Fulfillment to Euro 2.1 million with an operating loss before amortization of Euro 0.6 million and the improved performance of Industrial Automation.

Docdata announced on Friday that it intends to take over British CD maker Ablex. Docdata said that the parties involved expect to finalize their discussions in the next week with the objective of final completion around the end of June 2000. Ablex is located in the West Midlands and has around 110 full time employees.

Docdata reported on Wednesday net profit for 1999 fell 61% to NLG 5.5 mln, compared with net profit of NLG 14.2 mln the company booked in the comparible period of 1998. But the 1998 figure included the sale of consultancy CAE, without which Docdata would have posted a loss. Turnover decreased 4% from NLG 228.4 mln to NLG 218.9 mln.

Docdata to expand e-commerce activities
Aaudio and multimedia compact discs maker Docdata said on Wednesday it planned to manage its fast growing e-commerce processing and shipping activities as a separate line of business in 2000. Last year Docdata opened a centre in the Netherlands that can receive, store, handle, pack, ship and bill products for Internet retailers of media and related products.

Toolex International and Docdata announced on Thursday that the companies will co-operate in the production of Digital Versatile Discs (DVD). The companies said they have high expectations from the strategic co-operation and hope to extend it in the future. Toolex is to supply Mastering systems to various Docdata production companies in Germany, the US and the Netherlands.

Docdata Media Services, a subsidiary of cd-manufacturer Docdata which is active in the field of home-entertainment products, is to cooperate with Kleline, the European market leader in handling of online payments. Turnover decreased 10% from NLG 111.0 mln to NLG 99.8 mln. Operating income rose by 167% from NLG 1.5 mln to NLG 4.0 mln.

Docdata reported operating profit slumped 76% to NLG 5.1 mln last year from NLG 21.7 mln in 1997. Docdata published provisional 1998 earnings figures along with revised first-half figures on Friday. The revised figures were necessary because management of its UK subsidiary had made accounting mistakes which resulted in the dismissal of the UK financial director and head of bookkeeping. The company will announce official full-year figures on Monday.

Docdata expects an operating income for 1998 of between NLG 5 (EUR 2.3) and NLG 7 (EUR 3.2) mln and a net income of between NLG 13 (EUR 5.9) and NLG 15 (EUR 6.8) million. Docdata isrestructuring its US and UK subsidiairies and 120 of the current 400 jobs are expected to be cut. The firm's units in the UK and the US are suffering from low sales and negative operating results. As a result, management aims to increase efficiency whereby less capacity will be needed to achieve the same level of sales.Some production capacity will be shifted from the UK to Europe where higher margins can be generated.

Docdata announced on Monday that its Industrial Automation Integrators (IAI) subsidiary has received an order from Stationery Office, the printer of passports for the United Kingdom, to design, build and install a custom-built laser perforation system to apply a security feature called DestriPerf to passports.

Docdata finalises CAE sale
Docdata said on Thursday that it has finalised the sale of Control Application Engineering (CAE) of Waalwijk to Ordina Beheer. CAE realizes an annual turnover of approx. NLG 17 million and currently employs 120 employees.Docdata said that the activities of CAE correspond with the strategic growth policy of Ordina, of which embedded software is one of the defined spearheads. Docdata is to concentrate on the growth of their media service activities.

Ordina and Docdata have signed a letter of intent for the take over of Docdata's subsidiary Control Applications Engineering (CAE). Docdata said that it expects the deal to be finalised this month. Financial details of the proposed deal were not disclosed. Ordina said that CAE would make a positive contribution to profit per share.

Docdata reported on Tuesday net profit for the first-half of 1998 increased 37% to NLG 5.9 mln, compared with net profit of NLG 4.3 mln the company booked in the comparible period of 1997. Turnover almost doubled from NLG 62.8 mln to NLG 113.4 mln. Operating income increased 28% from NLG 7.6 mln to NLG 9.7 mln. Earnings per share for the first-half of 1998 increased 1% to NLG 0.73, compared with earnings per share of NLG 0.72 for the first-half of 1997.

Docdata reports net profit up 76%
Docdata reports it booked a net profit of NLG 14.1 mln for 1997, compared with pro-forma NLG 8 mln the company booked for 1996. Turnover increased from NLG 115.5 mln to NLG 173.1 mln. The increases were fuelled by the acquisition of UK-based Mayking for NLG 46 in August. Without Mayking, the turnover increase would have been limited to 22.9%.
