Arcadis-Designed telecommunicationsnetwork operation center in Germany completed
Arcadis on Tuesday announced that it has completed a large telecommunications Network Operation Center (NOC) in the German town of Kerpen near Cologne for Callahan Associates International LLC. The project has been undertaken within extremely tight construction deadlines, with site selection of an existing building taking place as late as April this year and project completion reached at the end of November.

Arcadis launches new rail concept
Arcadis has applied for a patent for a new rail concept based on a hybrid train which combines the advantages of regular trains with those of magnetic levitation trains through the use of linear motors. Arcadis announces results for Q3 and first nine months of 2001
In the third quarter of 2001, Arcadis continued to improve its profitability. Net income rose by 10% to EUR 5.1 mln, or EUR 0.25 per share, compared to EUR 4.7 mln, or EUR 0.23 per share, in the third quarter of 2000. Gross revenues increased by 6% to EUR 199.9 mln compared to EUR 188.0 mln in the same period last year.

Arcadis consortium wins multi-million euro assignment
Arcadis on Tuesday reported that it is among a consortium of three companiesthat has been awarded an extensive assignment by the Belgian Government, aimed at the improvement of the infrastructure of the Antwerp region. The three companies will take part in the consortium as equal partners. The consortium, operating under the name Studiegroep Antwerpen Mobiel (SAM), to which Arcadis' subsidiary GEDAS belongs, will develop, coordinate and implement a new masterplan for the city of Antwerp and its surroundings which is aimed at the improvement of the mobility of this region.

Arcadis completes strategic niche acquisition in Brazil
Arcadis announced on Friday that it has recently completed the acquisition of Hidro Ambiente through its local subsidiary Arcadis Logos. Arcadis announces Q2 and H1 2001 results
During the second quarter, Arcadis continued its strong performance. Income excluding extraordinary items rose by 13% to EUR 6.3 mln, or EUR 0.31 per share, compared to net income of EUR 5.6 mln, or EUR 0.28 per share in the second quarter of 2000. Operating income improved 11% to EUR 11.3 mln from EUR 10.2 mln a year ago.

For the 2001 first quarter for Arcadis, gross revenues increased 7% to EUR 177.6 mln, compared to EUR 165.4 mln in the first quarter of 2000. Arcadis expands in rapidly growing Brazil infrastructure market
Arcadis announced on Monday that Arcadis Logos in Brazil, in which the Company has a 51% stake, has recently reached an agreement to acquire the Brazilian consulting engineering company Enerconsult S.A. With this acquisition, Arcadis Logos will benefit through increased engineering activities from concessions it has been awarded for hydropower projects.

Arcadis on Wednesday announced that it has received approval from the NMa, the Netherlands Competition Authority, on the sale of the Company's environmental technology contracting business, Milieutechniek, to AVR-Bedrijven, a privately-owned Dutch company in Rotterdam, as previously announced. Milieutechniek is part of Arcadis Heidemij Realisatie, one of the Dutch subsidiaries of Arcadis.

Arcadis repeated on Tuesday it saw earnings in 2000 rising by at least 10%, given the good market conditions in the Netherlands, most of Europe and the United States. Arcadis seeks expansion in US
Eengineering consultancy Arcadis said on Thursday boosting its US operations would be a priority in the years ahead. At the start of last year, Arcadis' US branch posted turnover of about USD 190 mln. Over the full-year 1999, local turnover totalled USD 250 mln including a contribution by US firm Giffels, which was taken over in the fourth quarter.

The completion of the takeover became possible after shareholders of Giffels granted approval and US authorities gave the green light, Acardis said in a statement.

Arcadis said on Thursday it had acquired a majority stake in Brazilian civil engineer Logos Engenharia. Arcadis announced on Thursday that it recently acquired the remaining 35% of shares in Arcadis Euroconsult from Grontmij. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Arcadis Euroconsult is active in 40 countries and has annual revenues of over NLG 90 mln. The unit employs 300 people. Arcadis said that the acquisition of the remaining shares fits in well with its strategy of international expansion, through which the Company aims to achieve 10% annual growth.

Arcadis announced on Wednesday that it has signed an joint venture agreement with the Polish company Wojewodzkie Biuro Projektow W Zabrzu (WBP) of Zabrze. In the cooperation agreement, the potential acquisition by Arcadis of a majority share in WBP is also foreseen. WBP was established as a private company in 1991, and is located in the city of Zabrze, in the vicinity of Gliwice. The firm employs approximately 90 people. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

In the agreement both companies have committed themselves to cooperation in the procurement and execution of projects. Arcadis chairman estimates the company will book a net result 'in the NLG 30 mln' for 1997. In 1996 Arcadis booked a net result of NLG 28.1 mln. Turnover for 1997 will be around NLG 1.2 bln.
