De Drie Electronics acquisition
The acquisition by De Drie Electronics, the Dutch producer and distributor of power and control-unit electronics, of its German counterpart Industrie Automation Energiesystemen (iaE) has been completed. The Dutch company is buying all shares in iaE. The acquisition will start in retroaction on January 1 2001. De Drie Electronics expects that the acquisition will not have an effect on this year's profit figures.

De Drie Electronics and iaE announce intention to merge
De Drie Electronics Beheer N.V. (De Drie Electronics) and German company industrie automation Energiesysteme GmbH (iaE) announce that the two companies expect to reach agreement on a merger. The merger is in line with De Drie Electronics' strategy of increasing its focus on the supply of innovative electronics for energy conversion.

De Drie Electronics 1999 net flat
De Drie Electronics announced on Tuesday that profit from normal operations for its 1998/99 fiscal year, which ended November 30, came to EUR 900,000, compared to EUR 880,000 for the previous fiscal year. Including an extraordinary gain of EUR 90,000 from the settlement of a disputed patent infringement, net result came to EUR 960,000, compared to EUR 990,000 for the previous year. Earnings per share decreased from EUR 0.82 to EUR 0.80.

De Drie Electr. reported on Wednesday net profit for the first-half of 1999 decreased 15% to NLG 0.84 mln, compared with net profit of NLG 0.93 mln the company booked in the comparible period of 1998. Turnover remained unchanged at NLG 9.6 mln. Earnings per share for the first-half of 1999 decreased 10% to NLG 0.70, compared with earnings per share of NLG 0.78 for the first-half of 1998.

Drie Electronics seeks expansion
De Drie Electronics reported net profit from normal business operations in the 1998 year ended November 30 rose 19% to nearly NLG 20 mln. An extraordinary gain from a patent infrigement dispute with a foreign company boosted total profit to NLG 2.2 mln. Earnings per share climbed to NLG 1.81 from NLG 1.22 a year ago, in line with expectaions.

Drie Electronics ups profit forecast
A legal settlement with a foreign company will push up profits for Drie Electronics for three years. A windfall of NLG 380.000 will be added to 1998 figures with another NLG 170.000 for both 1999 and 2000. Drie Electronics upgraded its profit forecast for the current year saying this is now expected to be higher than the NLG 1.5 mln in 1997. In 1997, De Drie Electronics started legal proceedings claiming a foreign had contravened a joystick patent belonging to one of its subsidiaries.

De Drie Electronics reports net profit for the first-half of 1998 increased with 52% to NLG 930,000 on turnover up 30% to NLG 9.6 mln. The company said it expected similar results in the second half. The positive order book trend which began in 1997 continued in the 1998 first half. Shareholders' equity increased by 13% to NLG 8.2 mln.
