Batenburg Beheer H1 net profit up 12%
Batenburg Beheer reported on Tuesday net profit for the first-half of 2000 increased 12% to EUR 1.9 mln, compared with net profit of EUR 1.7 mln the company booked in the comparible period of 1999. Turnover increased 35% from EUR 36.8 mln to EUR 49.5 mln. Operating income increased 19% from EUR 2.1 mln to EUR 2.5 mln. Earnings per share for the first-half of 2000 increased 12% to EUR 4.79, compared with earnings per share of EUR 4.28 for the first-half of 1999.

Batenburg said that provisional net profit for 1999 increased 7% to EUR 4.7 mln, compared to EUR 4.4 mln for 1998. The company booked an extra-ordinary income of EUR 346,000 from the sale of assets and a reorganisation charge of EUR 260,000. Profit from ordinary operations increased with 5% to EUR 4.6 mln. Earnings per share came to EUR 11.75, compared to EUR 10.99 for the previous year.

Batenburg to acquire Bosman Bedrijven
Batenburg Beheer announced on Friday that it is to take over Bosman Bedrijven. Bosman has three subsidiaries active in electronics and sanitation. The company employs 170 people and has annual turnover of NLG 38 mln. If the acquisitions succeeds, Batenburg Beheer will comprise five installation companies and ten trading companies in the Netherlands and Belgium with 800 employees.

Van Reijsen Elektronica of Delft, a subsidiary of Batenburg Beheer, has acquired all shares in Klees Electronics of Amstelveen. The takeover sum was not disclosed. Klees Electronics has annual sales of some NLG 2 mln.

Sales fell NLG 6 mln from NLG 197 mln in 1996 to NLG 191 mln in 1997. Batenburg said the fall in turnover was due to changes in an agreement with a telecoms supplier in Belgium.
