Athlon Interleasing closes deal with Nuon
On 28 December 2000 Nuon and Interleasing Nederland signed a five-year agreement covering the management of the entire Nuon fleet of 3,000 vehicles. This represents a 10% increase in Interleasing's fleet. By 2001, Interleasing is expected to manage two-thirds of the Nuon fleet already. As a result of the merger of Nuon, ENW, GAMOG and EWR, Nuon has decided to outsource the management of its fleet of 3,000 cars.

Athlon about to integrate Dutch rental activities
Athlon Groep (car leasing and - rental, dealerships and car body repair) will merge its two rental companies AXXI Autoverhuur and Hiltermann Rental Service, which are both operating nationally. After the merger of the two companies one car rental company will emerge with 10 outlets, 65 employees and a car fleet of 4,000 cars.

Athlon negotiates acquisition of Volkswagen/Audi dealer Joh. de Vries
Athlon Groep is in the middle of negotiating with the VW/Audi dealer Joh. de Vries about an acquisition. The company has outlets in Purmerend and Volendam, the car leasing company Purmer Lease will also be part of the activities to be taken over. Annually, the company sells 900 new private and company cars and 500 used cars, the lease company has a portfolio of 750 contracts and a total turnover is achieved of approximately NLG 70 mln with 64 employees.

Commercial paper for Athlon Groep
Athlon Groep is introducing a Commercial Paper programme of maximally € 250 million. The introduction will take place simultaneously from the Netherlands and Belgium. It will be arranged by ING Barings and Bank Brussels Lambert. In the Netherlands ING Bank, ABN AMRO Bank and Soci‚t‚ Generale will act as the dealers; the dealers in Belgium are Bank Brussels Lambert and KBC Bank.

Athlon Groep net profit up 43%
Athlon Groep reported on Monday net profit for 1999 increased 43% to EUR 27.0 mln, compared with net profit of EUR 18.9 mln the company booked in the comparible period of 1998. Turnover increased 53% from EUR 604.0 mln to EUR 923.0 mln. Operating income excluding interest increased 37% from EUR 26.2 mln to EUR 35.8 mln. Earnings per share for 1999 increased 13% to EUR 1.79, compared with earnings per share of EUR 1.58 for 1998.

Athlon in new acquisitions
Athlon has acquired French car lease and rental company Locamat and Dutch car damage repair company A.van Ham of Oosterhout. Locamat has annual turnover of NLG 10 mln and has 540 cars. A.van Dam has annual turnover of NLG 4 mln. Athlon said that both companies will contribute to its profit immediately. Financial details of the transactions were not disclosed.

Athlon finalises acquisition dealership
Ahtlon Group announced on Friday it has finalised the acquisition of Mercedes Benz dealership Baan in the region Twente. Athlon said the acquisition strengthens its position in the business segment of dealerships in the Netherlands. The company paid for the acquisition with the proceeds of last June's share issue.

Athlon Groep reported on Wednesday net profit for the first-half of 1999 increased 44% to NLG 26.2 mln, compared with net profit of NLG 18.2 mln the company booked in the comparible period of 1998. The profit increase was largely due to acquisitions, Athlon said. Turnover increased 43% from NLG 639 mln to NLG 914 mln.

Athlon finalises acquisition of De Lage Landen Translease
Athlon Groep has reached final agreement on the acquisition of all shares in German car lease and rental company De Lage Landen Translease of Dusseldorf. The acquisition will contribute to Athlon Groep's earnings per share immediately, the company said. The acquisition is an important step in Atlon's aim to gain a foothold in the full service lease market in Germany.

Athlon reduces share issue
Athlon Groep said on Thursday that it has successfully finalised the issue of 3.5 million new shares. The shares has been placed at EUR 23 per share. The majority of the shares has been placed at institutional investors in the Netherlands, Belgium, Great-Britain, Germany and Switzerland. The proceeds of the issue, EUR 80.5 mln, will be used to finance recently announced acquisitions, to settle a subordinated loan and to strengthen the balance sheet for future acquisitions.

Athlon Group announced on Monday that it will issue for NLG 100 mln new ordinary shares. Athlon Group said the proceeds will be used to finance earlier announced four acquisitions, to re-finance subordinated loans and to strengthen its balance. Athlon said it will finalise the acquisitions of De Lage Landen Translease (Germany), CB Location (France), Service Lease and Mercedes-Benz dealer Baan (both in the Netherlands) before the end of the summer.

Athlon Group announced on Tuesday that it is taking over four car companies in Holland, Germany and France. Athlon said that it will finance the acquisitions with a public share issue worth NLG 220 mln. The company said that the four new acquisitions would increase its turnover by approximately NLG 300 mln. All of the new acquisitions will contribute to profits immediately, Athlon said.

Turnover increased 48% from NLG 897.4 mln to NLG 1,331.0 mln. Operating income increased 62% from NLG 35.3 mln to NLG 57.1 mln. Earnings per share for 1998 increased 33% to NLG 3.49, compared with earnings per share of NLG 2.63 for 1997.

Athlon Groep reported on Friday net profit for the first-half of 1998 increased 35% to NLG 18.2 mln, compared with net profit of NLG 13.5 mln the company booked in the comparible period of 1997. Earnings per share for the first-half of 1998 increased 22% to NLG 1.53, compared with earnings per share of NLG 1.25 for the first-half of 1997.

Athlon Groep is negotiating the sale of one of its Opel dealers, Lisser Automobielbedrijf, with Motorhuis. Moterhuis is a group of Opeldealers. Lisser Automobielbedrijf turns over some NLG 18 mln with 18 employees.

Athlon is taking over German company Avag Leasing, which will add DEM 80 mln to its annual turnover. The deal is Athlon's second in Germany this year. The new acquisition will be paid for in cash and will contribute immediately to earnings per share.

Athlon is taking over French car lease company TAE Location for an undisclosed sum from management and a number of venture-capital companies. The new acquisition will be paid for in cash and is expected to contribute to Athlon's earnings per share immediately. TAE of Rennes has annual turnover of FFR 55 mln and employs 35 people at four locations.

Athlon is concentrating its Dutch car-lease activities under the name Interleasing Nederland. For that purpose, Athlon will merge its two national operating car-lease companies Prolease and Interleasing. The new combine will have 20,000 cars under management and a workforce of 140.

Athlon reports net profit up 33%
Athlon reports net profit for 1997 rose 33% to NLG 28.5 mln, compared with NLG 21.4 mln for 1996. Turnover increased 13% from NLG 791 mln to NLG 897 mln. Earnings per share increased to NLG 13.13, diluted by a 25% increase in the number of outstanding shares. Management is proposing a dividend of NLG 4.59 a share. Athlon said it will look to France and Germany for future growth. Athlon has acquired the French lease firm GG jean Jaures, and consolidated the unit in July.
