Trips / Midden Zeeland
On Sunday morning René asked Maurits if he felt for flying that afternoon. A high pressure area had brought good weather, and Maurits had not gone to Hilversum for glider flying. Maurits suggested to fly to Midden Zeeland, as he thought he had never been there before. That was not completely accurate, as we had visited the airfield a few times before, but the last time was in 2004 when he was a little boy. So it was no surprise he did not remember that anymore. We booked the G-WARH, and drove to Lelystad early in the afternoon. The visibility was perfect. At only 1,300 ft we could cleary see the skyline of Rotterdam and The Hague from 70km away. We crossed the CTR of Rotterdam over the city. After landing on runway 09 of Midden Zeeland airfield Maurits went to the airport office to pay the landing fee, and then we had a something to eat and drink at the restaurant. On the way back we passed Soesterberg where gliders were active. Maurits announced our passing on the radio to inform the gliders. We continued via Amersfoort to Lelystad, where we landed on runway 05.
