From Lelystad to Dresden

On Tuesday, July 3, 2007, Laurence, Charlotte, Maurits and Rene departed from Lelystad to Dresden to attend the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert on July 4. After some 2 hours and 40 minutes we reached Dresden, where we first made a 360 over the city before landing at Dresden Flughafen.

On Wednesday we had sufficient time for some sight seeing in Dresden. In the evening Laurence, Charlotte and Maurits went to the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.

On Thursday the weather was poor, and we decided to fly back the next day. The weather forecast for Friday turned out to be too optimistic in respect of timing. The low pressure area over the North Sea and the fronts that were passing Germany caused strong winds and low clouds. We had a bumpy ride. On the way back to Lelystad we inserted a fuel stop at Osnabruck Atterheide to widen our options with alternates. During the last part of the flight before landing at Lelystad airport the weather became marginal.
