From Palo Alto to Redding On Monday, July 30, 2001, started our trip to Yellowstone (Rene, Veleda, Laurence, Charlotte, Maurits, Hans and Babette). To avoid the higher Sierra Nevada mountains near Lake Tahoe, we first flew north to Redding (relief map).

From Redding to Winnemucca After a hot Chinese lunch at Redding, we continued our journey to our overnight stop-over; Winnemucca.

From Winnemucca to Idaho Falls The next morning we drove to Winnemucca airport for the last leg to Idaho Falls.

To Yellowstone In Idaho Falls, we hired a car for our trip to Yellowstone.

To Jerome On Friday, August 3, we planned to go to Winnemucca. Because of the weather ahead (strong winds and thunderstorms) we diverted to Jerome.

Via Winnemucca and Redding to Palo Alto On Saturday, August 4, 2001, we flew back to Palo Alto, via Winnemucca and Redding. It was a long flying day (06:40h).
